Marvel HeroClix: Avengers vs. X-Men is a four-month storyline that begins in December 2013 and will run through April 2014. The OP will offer monthly participation prizes including special limited edition figures as well as five fragments of the powerful Phoenix Force HeroClix resource that players can collect "in order to combine them all into one incredible source of power." The exclusive competitive prizes will include the time travelling warrior Cable, the mutant Hope in all her White Phoenix glory, and others. The Grand Prize (awarded in month four) is a colossal HeroClix figure: Dark Phoenix Cyclops.
Players start in November by choosing either the AvX–Avengers Starter or AvX–X-Men Starter and using them to build teams throughout the 4-month program. Each Starter will include six figures, maps, the HeroClix Powers and Abilities Card and Core Rulebook–and all of the figures are SwitchClix, which WizKids says "will become very relevant as the AvX Storyline event unfolds." The starters also include team specific action tokens and custom dice.
Each month, as play progresses, players will select one or more figures from the starter associated with their chosen team, and construct a HeroClix force around their chosen figure(s). In the fourth month, players will receive an exclusive Team Base corresponding to the team they’ve selected.
Marvel has released information on its November-shipping title and it appears that yet another major "comic book event" is about to erupt in the Marvel Universe, though this time its Marvel’s Ultimate line that is affected. Every single book in Marvel’s Ultimate line in November has been repurposed to tell the story of the Cataclysm event, which pits the massive and mighty Galactus against the Ultimates.
The chief architect of this event appears to be top Marvel scribe Brian Michael Bendis. In addition to the three-issue Cataclysm: Ultimates mineseries, Bendis is also penning the crucial five-issue Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand series, as well as a 3-issue Cataclysm: Ultimate Spider-Man. One other key bit of news to come out of Marvel’s November solicitations is the return of Miles Morales, who puts his costume back on after mourning the tragic death of his mother.
The only other "Ultimate" titles listed for November are the first issues of the 3-issue Cataclysm Ultimates series, and the 3-issue Cataclysm: Ultimate X-Men series, both of which are being written by Joshua Hale Fialkov.

Marvel is launching two new titles featuring X-Men characters in November: Wolverine: Origin II and Amazing X-Men.
Marvel’s Origin is getting a sequel written by Kieron Gillen (Phonogram) and drawn by Adam Kubert (Ultimate X-Men). Wolverine: Origin II #1 will chronicle the early adventures of James Howlett, the clawed curmudgeon more commonly known as Logan.
Set a few years after Origin, the end of which found Logan trapped between his animal and human natures, Origin II further illuminates Wolverine’s transformation from feral beast to heroic X-Man. Plus, the story promises to reveal the biggest secret behind Wolverine’s greatest enemy.
Amazing X-Men #1, also shipping in November, features the return of Nightcrawler, who gave his life to protect his fellow mutants during X-Men: Second Coming. Storm, Beast, and Ice Man, led by Wolverine, must embark on a dangerous journey into the unknown to rescue their teleporting teammate.
Taking place in the aftermath of X-Men: Battle of the Atom (see "‘X-Men: Battle of the Atom’"), Amazing X-Men #1 is written by Jason Aaron (Wolverine) and drawn by Ed McGuinness (Superman/Batman).
